Travails of the African child: A silhouette expression

The Parental Treat

This piece combines silhouette expression and 3d. It illustrates a common event to most African children since history can remember, till the present day. Most kids get something broken in the house, the most common is plates. And the best treatment an average African parent has for this is a two-branches whip made of skin (koboko, pankere). I had my taste, you must have had yours too.
Question is does this ever solve the problem?
I think it never did, it only leaves some of us with body marks and tattoos. The image shows rough edges (like a paper eaten by cockroaches and rats on the edges) signifying the tears such treatment have left in many children. Although some come out strong, others don't.
If you have personal experiences, be free to share, let art speak your mind!
